Safari World
Should you be accompanied by children and you have a couple of days to spend in Bangkok, you might want to consider visiting Safari World, which is a perfect full-day destination. If you leave Bangkok early in the morning, you will be back around 5 pm. Among other things, you will get a chance to experience orangutan shows, dolphin shows, sea lion shows and Wild West performances. Please visit our picture gallery in order to see a couple of pictures from the different shows.

Safari World consists of two areas — one inner and one outer. In the outer area you get around by car, mini-van or bus and will get the opportunity to experience exotic animals such as zebras, tigers, hippos, ostriches, deers, lions, bears, giraffes etc. on a close basis. Since there are many paths, it is a bit complicated to find your way around in the inner area. A good way of getting around is hence under the guidance of a tourist guide. Apart from the above mentioned shows you will see ice bears, parrots, beautiful birds, crocodiles, fishes, lizards, different monkey species, giraffes, elephants, snakes and turtles — the list can be made long!

Since the visit in the outer area of Safari World requires access to a car/mini-van this is a reason for booking either a group tour or a private tour with a tour operator or a guide. A group tour normally costs between 800 and 1,200 baht per person (depends on the number of people signing up), which is very reasonable given the complete experience you will get. The price for children is less. Entrance to all shows and lunch is normally included in the price. It is also possible to book a private tour, for instance if you come one or two families. The price starts at approximately 4,000 baht. Would you like to visit Safari World on your own, that is of course also possible. The admission is 750 baht for adults and 450 baht for children. These prices do not include lunch. Moreover, you need to pay for the transportation to Safari World, which is located in the Minburi district.

We would strongly like to recommend a visit to Safari World — especially if you are travelling with children. The park is open daily between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm and is located on 99 Ramindra Road. Apart from getting there by signing up for an organized trip, it is possible to get to Safari World either by taxi or by bus. If you take a taxi, the trip will take approximately 30 minutes from the central parts of Bangkok.
